 I performed Il Presente è una terra straniera - La Costituzione italiana (The Present is a foreign country - The Italian Constitution) during a time of political turmoil in Italy, when the then government proposed to change the Italian Constitution. Ours Constitution was designed after FAscism and WW2, to avoid those horrors to happen again. I believe that changing the Constitution would be highly dangerous. The performance also reflects Italy's economical and political instability, making young Italians feel unsupported and forced to leave, and migrants unwelcome. 

In a setting recalling the President of the Italian Republic's End of the Year Speech ("Il discorso di fine anno"), I read the 139 articles of the Italian Constitution backwards. This action purposely recalls that of Satanic masses, during which prayers are performed backwards to invoke the evil. 

Whose is this voice that is speaking? What are they saying? I cannot understand. The present is a foreign country.
